Where do you even begin with this one? I think the interview was really … interesting? … and the young man, Timothy Kurek, who pretended to be gay responded well to diffuse the idea that he was talking past his true experience and for the gay community.
While this interview conducted by gay anchor Thomas Roberts is short with limited content, I am pretty sure I would disagree with Mr. Kurek on some key issues. I actually want to read his book to see what his experience was like. Recently I wrote that it was time for the cycle of muddy liberalized views on this issue to repeat with new spokespeople and a new book … I hope this guy isn’t that.
Having grown up in Nashville and having my own “coming out” get me thrown out and disowned by my family in that very community (albeit in the ’80′s) … my heart goes out to his lesbian friend.
Actually, as I think about it, I am still hung up on this guy lying to everyone … that’s just not ok. ::: re-thinking my desire to read the book. :::
